Mullite powder (3Al ₂ O ∝· 2SiO ₂) is a high alumina silicate material with excellent high temperature resistance and chemical stability, widely used in refractory materials, precision casting and other fields. The following is its key information:
1. Preparation process
 Sol gel method: nanometer mullite powder is obtained through hydrolysis coprecipitation of tetraethyl orthosilicate and aluminum chloride, and calcination temperature has a significant impact on the formation of phase structure.
Mechanical processing method: Mullite raw materials are made through high-temperature roasting, crushing, screening (such as 200 mesh, 325 mesh, etc.), and iron removal processes. Raymond milling technology is crucial for particle size control.
2. Core Features
High fire resistance: It can withstand temperatures above 1600 ℃ and has a thermal expansion coefficient 35% lower than ordinary silica sand.
Low iron content: reduces metal oxidation during the casting process, suitable for precision castings.
Diverse particle sizes: ranging from 16 mesh to 1250 mesh, meeting different application requirements (such as 325 mesh for thin-walled castings).
3. Main applications
Refractory materials: used for lining furnace linings, refractory bricks, and lining high-temperature reaction devices.
Precision casting: As a molding material for V-method molding and investment casting, it is suitable for cast steel and stainless steel parts.
Architecture and Industry: Used as a concrete additive or insulation material to enhance fire resistance.
